BOHOL-Panglao

Bohol is supposed to be a side trip to our Cebu trip last February.  But it ended up being our main trip. Why? Just read on....

DAY 2 of our Cebu-Bohol Adventure

From Cebu, we arrived at Tagbilaran port around 11AM
We don't have any reservation for accommodation or tour when we get there....and this is how DIY (do it yourself) trip gets in.

Outside the Tagbilaran Port there are several vehicles parked everywhere.  Most of them offer a tour package.

We’re able to get a cab from there for a Bohol Countryside Tour at 1000Php/4 - excluding entrance and buffet lunch.

1st stop: Loboc River
Buffet lunch 400/head
It was raining while we are cruising that made it more refreshing while we are enjoying our buffet lunch. Good thing that after the Loboc River, the rain stops - so we headed up to Bohol's famous icon...

2nd stop: Chocolate Hills
Entrance of 20PHP/head
Bohol- Chocolate Hills

We did enjoy the view from there. So we took alot of pictures of course. :)

3rd stop: Man-made Forest
Man-made Forest
Man-made forest is along the way from Chocolate hills going to Tagbilaran

4th stop: Hanging Bridge
we got all our "pasalubong from here... peanut kisses, tarsier key chains and all other stuff.

5th stop: Tarsier
I was really amazed by this small creature... hehe they're sooooo cute! And I was able to hold them in my hand (with permission from the care taker of course) that is the best perks we've got being the last visitor. :)

And the last and final stop: Baclayon Church
we did just a quick stop here to take pictures because it's almost sunset...

and finally we headed to Panglao to end the day.

The initial plan is to stay in Dimaluan Beach, but since we don't have any reservation it was hard to get a room.... there are some who offered us, but the rate is too much.

so kuya (our cab driver/tour guide) suggested to go straight to Alona Beach.

Alona beach
Alona Beach is like a combination of Boracay and Galera for me... and there, we found a very cheap but decent room accommodation.. 1200/4 pax

We ended up paying 1500/4pax to our cab driver -still not bad for the entire trip.

Woke up early the next morning to check on the beach/island hopping and we got the cheapest Island hopping for 1000Php/4.
Balicasag Island was our first stop that morning -- it was really a memorable island for me because I was reciting "our father.." while we are sailing to that island.... that was the most scary waves I experienced in my entire life.... whew! (I don't swim... btw) hehe

and thank God we landed safe to Balicasag island and we did enjoy the clear water for about an hour
and of course took pictures... (~,^)

Good thing the waves were kind to us on our way to the 2nd island that day... they called it Virgin Island.

the island is so crowded when we get there, the place is nice because of the long stretch of sand bar, based on what I have read before that this sand bar is only visible during low tide.

the sand bar of Virgin Island

We spent 30 mins there before we decided to go back to Alona Beach.

....and the same cab driver/service picked us from Alona Beach for additional 500Php/4 around 11:30am back to Tagbilaran Port for our 1PM ferry going back to Cebu.

It was really a tiring day....
